The Day of 'Arafah

"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'The best supplication is the supplication on the day of Arafat'. [at-Tirmidhi and Malik] 

Supplication (dua) on The Day of Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah)

‘The best of supplications is the supplication on the day of AAarafah and the best which I and the Prophets before me have said (is):

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَريكَ لَهُ، لَهُ المُلْكُ ولَهُ الحَمْدُ وهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَديرٌ.

"La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa 'aala kulli shayin qadeer."

‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all praise and sovereignty and He is over all things omnipotent.’

Abu Qatada said "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked about fasting the Day of 'Arafat. He said, 'It expiates the past year and coming year.'" [Muslim]

May Allah accept all of your ibaadah. May He accept the Hajj of those that are performing it this year. 

Eid Mubarak. Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum. Ghafar Allahu lana wa lakum.

Ibn 'Abbaas (Radi Allahu Anhumah)  reported that the Prophet Muhammad (Sallalahu Alaihi Wasallam)  said:  " There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days." The people asked, "Not even jihaad for the sake of Allah?" He said, "Not even jihaad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing."  ( Related by Bukhari ).

Dhul Hijjah

Official Decision and Announcement of the High Judiciary Council of Saudi Arabia...

Just a short time ago, Fatwa-Online was informed of the official decision and announcement of the High Judiciary Council (HJC) of Saudi Arabia regarding the beginning of Dhul-Hijjah.

1 Dhul-Hijjah will be on Wednesday 17 October 2012, and the Muslims performing Hajj will be in'Arafah on Thursday 25 October 2012 (9 Dhul-Hijjah 1433), and the Muslim Ummah shall be celebrating 'Eed al-Adhaa on Friday 26 October 2012, (10 Dhul-Hijjah 1433), inshaa.-Allaah.

'Eid al Fitr

It's Eid tomorrow in sha Allah! We got another day of Ramadan. Another day of preparations, another day of fasting and iftar. But the best part for me was that I finally got to go for taraweeh at Masjid Ash Shoaibi! I hadn't been there this Ramadan. I loved it! I love the recitation with tajweed by Shaykh Abdullah Basfar and his son. I love the little talk in the middle (yesterday it was about improving ourselves and not giving up, to just keep going, fasting the six days of Shawwal, so many beautiful points)! I remember coming to this mosque in my teens. I will miss coming to this mosque, with it's quiet, calm interior during salaah, in the middle of the bustling Salamah district. I will miss all of this when I leave. 

Please remember me and my family (including my cousin who I posted about it here) in your du'aas. May Allah bless you with a happy, beautiful, peaceful 'Eid al Fitr and a year filled with all that pleases Him, after it.
